The 810-seat Colonial reopened for public performances in August, 2006. The facility consists of the historic 1903 theater and lobby that is linked to the 1920’s Berkshire Auto Garage. These two spaces work together wonderfully to provide clients with complete accessibility and the full range of audience and performer amenities including an ample lobby space with concessions, ticket sales center, sizable restrooms, concessions and coat check, a huge backstage and loading area and excellent dressing room areas.
Designated handicapped parking is available in a City of Pittsfield parking lot adjacent to the theater and public entrances and exits are all completely accessible. Handicapped seating and infrared assisted listening systems are available on all levels and in every price range within the theater. Please advise the ticket office staff of any special needs at the time of ticket purchase.
- Restrooms for men and women are located in the main lobby of the theater.
Family/Handicap restrooms are located on all floors of the theater (main lobby, balcony and gallery). - Refreshments are available in the main lobby. Food and drink may be brought into the audience chamber for most performances.
- Lost and found articles should be reported or turned in to an usher or House Manager.

The photographing or sound recording of any performance or the possession of any photographic or recording device inside The Colonial Theatre, without the written permission of the theater management, is prohibited by law.
Emergencies
The exits indicated by the sign nearest to your seat are the shortest routes to the street. In the event of an emergency, please walk - do not run – to that exit. Patrons requiring assistance will be assigned an usher to help them exit the theater.
