Q: How can I become a Volunteer at the Colonial?
A: For information about how to become a Volunteer at the Colonial, please click here.
Q: Can my organization rent the Colonial Theatre and/or lobbies for a private event?
A: Yes, the Colonial has multiple spaces available for rent to both commercial and not-for-profit organizations. For more detailed information on rentals at the Colonial, please click here.
Q: Now that tickets are being sold, why does the Colonial still need contributions?
A: The first reason is that the fundraising needed to pay for the restoration of the facility fell short of the total needed to pay for all of the work. So, the Colonial has had to borrow money to pay all of its contractors and suppliers. The theater is trying to retire that debt as quickly as possible to reduce this burden on operations.
The second reason is that performing arts centers throughout the US depend upon annual contributions and sponsorships from businesses and individuals to attract the best artists available and to pay for important community services such as educational programs, low-cost tickets to encourage all in the community to benefit from this wonderful new venue, and reduced cost services for community organizations using the theater. The community service mission of the Colonial is made possible through generous gifts of support from our community.
